Reading have had a very inconsistent start to season, although they've lost just once since Mark Bowen came into the club.

This loss came on Saturday as Reading went down 1-0 away at Griffin Park. Despite battling hard, the Royals were left empty-handed and a lack of quality in the final third condemned them to defeat.

The result means that Bowen's side head into a very tricky tie with Leeds United on Tuesday on the back of a loss and that will be incredibly tough to bounce back with a win against the in-form Whites.

One player who the Royals will be without in the week is Ghanian right-back, Andy Yiadom. The defender is missing through suspension having picked up his 5th yellow card of the season during the defeat at Brentford on Saturday.

This means that he'll miss the fixture with Leeds at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday. He's been an incredibly important and consistent player for the Royals so far in this campaign and has taken to a new role at right-wing back very well.

He's bombarded up and down the wing and given Reading an attacking outlet when going forward. The supporters will be worried about coming up against such a high-quality side in Leeds this week and will hope that whoever comes in can do a good job defensively.

There are a few options that Bowen can go for on Tuesday. One of them is Chris Gunter, despite not playing this season, he was back on the bench on Saturday and maybe that's a sign he could be part of the action on Tuesday.

Another option is young Teddy Howe. The right-back has impressed for the under-23 side and even managed to make his senior debut last season, it would be a fantastic opportunity for him to prove himself at this level, and the fans would definitely take to a decision for him to start.

Lastly, Bowen could put Andy Rinomhota at right-back, and then put Pele in midfield. This means that there's still an experienced player in the middle of the park, whilst Rinomhota can act as a makeshift wing-back, which he has done in the past.

Either way, it's going to be a tough game for the Royals but the fans will want to see that same energy and belief that they've shown in home games under Bowen.
