Reading have had an inconsistent season so far, but will be remaining optimistic after new manager Mark Bowen picked up four wins in his first seven games.

The Welshman's latest victory came on Saturday as the Royals managed to come back from a goal down to beat Wigan 3-1 scoring three goals in the space of a hectic five-minute spell.

One player completely stole the show and that was Romanian forward George Puscas. The striker netted a penalty before scoring a wonderful individual effort. He then rounded off his hat-trick with a well taken left-footed finish after a good ball in from Garath McCleary.

It's a game that will have given the player so much confidence heading into an important part of the season, and he has received recognition not just in the Championship, but also on the international stage.

Puscas has recently received the Romanian Player of the Year award and has also won the award of the best Romanian Forward of the Year. It is a great success for the player as he has shown he can do it on the main stage, scoring five goals in his ten games for the international side this calendar year.

The Royals fans will be delighted to have seen this, and the expectations for the player will have risen even more after what has been a rather average start to life at Reading. Until Saturday, supporters were worried his barren spell would never end but now he's got goals and some awards, there is belief he can go on and score a bucketful for Reading.

He has got in the right positions on many occasions throughout the season but has failed to finish. All Reading fans have been encouraged by his movement, but he now needs consistency on his game.

These awards will go a long way to helping his confidence skyrocket as well as the fans' confidence in him, and they also implement how impressive the forward is and can be at a level of football where his national side play against some of the best players in world football.
