Reading have had a rather inconsistent start to the season, although since Mark Bowen took over the Royals have seen an upturn in their form.

The Welshman took over from Portuguese boss Jose Gomes who was sacked as Reading manager after two wins in the opening 11 matches of the season.

New strikers have been brought into the side such as Lucas Joao and George Puscas, and the owners have high expectations for the rest of the campaign.

One Reading player who hasn't featured as much lately is youngster Danny Loader. The forward has been at the height of recent transfer rumours after his move to Wolves on deadline day in the summer transfer window was cancelled.

Loader was upset by the events, and has since failed to earn himself starts in the Reading side. He has however been able to make an impact on the international stage as he was called up to the England under-20s side for their matches over the last five days.

He managed to net a goal against Iceland, which will make Reading fans very happy as it will either give him more confidence or up his price tag as he looks set to leave over the January transfer window.

The 20-year-old is out of contract in the summer and with Premier League clubs circling it looks like the forward won't be signing on at Reading for the future. One club who has recently been linked with the striker is Manchester United, they will have kept a keen eye on his performance for the England youth side in the week and will be hoping he can continue to perform like that at international level.

It's an interesting one, and Royals supporters don't seem too bothered to see him depart the club as he's scored once in his 29 senior appearances for the side.

This is why the fans will be happy that he's scoring goals when he gets the opportunity away from Reading as it will only attract more interest. As well as this, if Bowen does decide to use in the future, he'll be full of confidence having at least had some recent minutes.
