Reading supporters will surely have answers regarding the sacking of Jose Gomes, and again beginning the new search for a new manager, something that's becoming a repetitive theme at The Madejski Stadium.

Gomes was sacked after just 10 months in charge as he helped keep Reading's heads above water in the Championship last season, however has been unable to kick on this season and been sacked for his efforts.

Reading supporters will now be looking for the board to this time get the appointment right after Gomes' arrival and sacking split the Reading fanbase, but this time they'll be hoping for better, for the trend of inexperienced managers trying their hand at coaching in England for the first time.

Reading supporters may also disapprove of the club's current sporting director Mark Bowen being made favourite for the job, as Bowen hasn't had any first team managerial experience however has been coaching within first team environments for the best part of two decades. Bowen has had a long career working alongside Mark Hughes as his assistant manager for Wales. Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham, QPR, Stoke City and Southampton.

Reading fans may not be so keen on the second favourite for the job either, Mark Hughes. Hughes has a long-standing working relationship with the aforementioned Bowen, who is set to play a big part in appointing Gomes' successor. Hughes has no previous experience at managing in the Championship however would bring a top flight CV with him as a first-team manager.

However, both options won't likely see Reading fans let up on the board at the Royals, most fans feeling that the Reading board appear to have got the appointments wrong too often lately and are feeling that a change in approach must be taken to make sure they get the right man.

With the Reading board possibly drawing up a shortlist soon and identifying a few names that the club are interested in to try and get them out of the relegation mess, the fans will be anticipating a manager with Championship experience and bringing the contacts with him to help Reading out transfer wise and coaching wise in the forthcoming weeks.
