Reading are looking to snap up Sunderland defender Lamine Kone, according to respected Sun journalist Alan Nixon.

The Royals are keen on adding the big defender to their squad following a poor season last time out, with Sunderland expected to allow Kone to move on due to his high wages and seemingly poor attitude at times with the north east club.

Nixon claims that Reading are weighing up a loan move for Kone, but that wages could well be a sitcking point for the Royals or any other admiring clubs.

Sunderland are keen to move on Kone and others from their squad to make room for some new signings at the Stadium of Light. New manager Jack Ross is expecting to oversee quite the overhaul at the club in the coming weeks, and moving Kone's wages off the bill will be key to Ross making new signings.

Kone joineed Sunderland back in 2016 from Lorient, and initially impressed for the Black Cats during his first 12 months with the club. However, his stock and impression on some fans has since lost traction, and he looks to be on the move this summer.

Reading and Sunderland fans, what do you make of this? Would this be a good deal for all? Let us know in the comments!
