According to The Bracknell News, Reading FC Director of Football Brian Tevreden has denied that there is any truth in rumours suggesting that the club had offered a contract to Ezra Walian.

Reports in Indonesia were suggesting that Reading had offered Jong Ajax striker Ezra Walian a place in the first team when his contract expired in the summer.

Jong Ajax, who are Dutch giants Ajax's reserve side competing in the Netherlands' second tier, were also set to open contract talks with the once-capped Indonesian international striker, who previously represented Holland at youth level.

The links appeared to make some sense considering that Reading boss Jaap Stam spent two years prior to joining the Royals as assistant manager of Jong Ajax.

However, Reading's Director of Football has moved to categorically deny these rumours and pour cold water on Reading's reported interest.

In an unambiguous denial of these links, Brian Tevreden revealed:

"Much like a lot of player-related speculation in the media, I can confirm that the club have not spoken to the player in question, we have no interest in offering him a contract and this is another transfer link with no foundation.”
