Reading have officially announced that defender, Gabriel Osho has left the club to join Bristol Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season.

Osho has featured for the Reading first-team this season, making two appearances against Middlesbrough and Millwall where he put in an impressive performance.

The decision to loan Osho out has been met with a mixed reaction from supporters, many of whom would have thought that the youngster was good enough to challenge for a starting spot in Gomes' side.

This isn't the first loan spell that Osho has had in his career, but it is his first in the Football League after spending the season on loan at both Aldershot and Maidenhead United in previous seasons.

He certainly has a bright future ahead of him, but with key players returning to the squad from injury, and with Matt Miazga signing recently, the young centre-back wouldn't have been getting the game time he needs with the Royals.

Osho could be in line to make his debut for the League One side this evening when they take on promotion chasing Peterborough United.

The Verdict:

If you think about it, it's the best move for both parties.

With the arrival of Matt Miazga recently, Osho simply wouldn't have been getting enough game to develop in the senior game, which he desperately needs to do in the near future.

A successful loan move to Bristol Rovers could be the turning point in his career, and he could certainly give Jose Gomes a selection headache when he returns to the club in the summer.
