Reading are chasing Nottingham Forest striker Simon Cox and Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray, according to the Sun.
Nigel Adkins is looking to increase his attacking options by signing two strikers before deadline day, with Russian Pavel Pogrebnyak Adkins’ only experienced option up front.
30-year-old Murray scored 31 goals in the 2012/2013 Championship campaign and has has an excellent pre-season with Crystal Palace last season.
Cox came through the Reading academy before joining Swindon Town in 2007. He soon joined West Brom and joined Nottingham Forest in 2012.
