Reading manager Mark Bowen has claimed that Leeds United are the most difficult team you can play against away from home in the Championship.

The Royals travel to Elland Road having beaten Sheffield Wednesday 3-0 last weekend. It was Bowen's side's first victory in seven Championship games and moved Reading up to 15th in the table.

Leeds sit second in the division and will have been buoyed after beating promotion hopefuls Bristol City at Elland Road last weekend.

Reading lost to Marcelo Bielsa's side earlier in the campaign, with Jack Harrison scoring a late winner. It was tough to take after the Royals had stood firm for 89 minutes of the contest.

Bowen suggested that the trip to Leeds is always a big game and that the Whites are probably the most difficult team his side will face on the road this season.

Speaking to Berkshire Live, Bowen said: "It’s always a big game against Leeds.

"When you play them away they’re probably the most difficult team you can play against."

The Verdict

This is a bold claim from Bowen. He seems to be making sure his players respect the opposition and know how tough the fixture could be on the weekend.

It's always a big game, especially in front of a packed out Elland Road, but it could be a massive moment in Reading's season to show that they can compete with one of the best teams in the division.

Bowen will hope his side can carry on from that excellent 3-0 victory over the Owls last week and maintain their good run in front of goal.

George Puscas has been on the scoresheet in the past two weeks and Bowen will hope to ensure that he nets once again on Saturday.
