Reading will be an interesting proposition this season coming as it's hard to say exactly what they are going to manage to do.

In the last two years, they've been playoff finalists and relegation candidates so calling them this season is no easy task.

For sure, though, Paul Clement will have some convincing to do if things do not get off to a bright start when the Royals face Derby on the opening weekend.

Whilst we wait to see if he manages to bring in more new faces before then, though, Yann Kermorgant has left the club by mutual consent:

The French forward helped take the Royals all the way to Wembley with his goals in 16/17 but he, like many of his team-mates, could not replicate that form last season.

The former Charlton man, though, will go down as a favourite in the club's recent history and it'll be interesting to see what he does next.

The Verdict

Kermorgant gave his all for Reading in that 16/17 campaign and will be remembered fondly for some time because of that.

Last year didn't exactly go to plan, though, and now he'll be thinking about his next challenge in or out of the game.
