According to The Reading Chronicle, Reading goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi was both delighted and relieved with Friday night’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday.
Reading travelled to Hillsborough last Friday to take on Sheffield Wednesday in what was a six pointer in the race for a play-off spot.
If Sheffield Wednesday had won, they’d have leapfrogged Reading into fifth place and the Royals would have been at risk of being caught by Fulham.
Instead, Reading triumphed 2-0 to steer clear of the Owls and Fulham (who lost on Saturday to Wolves).
“Sheffield Wednesday are close to us in the table so it was like a six-point game.
“The performance was great and it was fantastic to keep a clean sheet and get the three points.
“It was a great win and it means we are five points in front of Sheffield now so we can be a little more relaxed.”
Reading have a six point cushion over seventh placed Fulham with eight games left to play.
