Cardiff City are in something of a transitional phase at the time of writing, with the club currently seeking a replacement for the outgoing Neil Warnock, who resigned from his position as manager earlier this week.

The 70-year-old was a largely popular figure amongst the Cardiff City faithful, with the former Sheffield United boss having spent three seasons at the south Wales club, during which he oversaw their promotion to the Premier League in the 2017/2018 campaign.

The void left by Warnock will surely be hard felt by both players and supporters alike, with the club board now seeking to bring in a replacement as quickly as possible.

It will be interesting to see what the new Bluebirds manager will do to improve the club's fortunes, with the Welsh outfit currently sitting seven points off the play-off places, there is clearly a need for a change in approach.

Cardiff fans this week took to Facebook to discuss whether the Bluebirds should make more use of their academy players, and here we take a look at a selection of comments in response to the question posed on the use of the club's young players via social media.

Ioan Huntley: None apart from maybe Coxe or D’Almeida are ready.

Andy Smith: The players that are ready to challenge for a spot should come through. But only if they are up to standard.

Roger Hopwood: When they are ready.

Jonathan Howells: We may have to if we are under a transfer embargo.

Marc Gareth Durkin: I would rather play a kid. Why did we resign Traore when we have Coxe?
