Birmingham City have had a mixed start to life under Pep Clotet as they prepare for a game against Leeds United at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Spaniard, who was assistant to Garry Monk prior to his dismissal, was tasked with changing the style of play at St. Andrew's but that hasn't really happened yet.

Having said that, Blues were outstanding against Middlesbrough last time out, something Clotet will be eager to build on. But, it was always going to take time to implement a different approach and it's too soon to be judging how well this is going.

Another worry is that the players at his disposal just aren't good enough to adapt to a different style and here we looked at the top THREE Blues players based on their pass success rate, from those who have featured regularly this season...

3) David Davis - 79.7%

Perhaps surprisingly, the former Wolves man has made the cut. He has been dropped recently after a poor start to the season and it's fair to say he isn't a fans favourite.

And, a reason for that was his wastefulness on the ball. Of course, this doesn't look at the quality of the pass but it shows Davis deserves a bit more credit than he gets for his technical ability.

2) Ivan Sunjic - 79.8%

It will be no surprise to see the Croatian on the list though. The summer signing arrived with a big reputation and he was seen as the player who would be crucial to this new style.

The stats show that he is very capable in possession and he can be trusted as the deep-lying playmaker to get attacks started for Blues.

1) Danny Crowley - 86.7%

Way out in front at Birmingham is attacking midfielder Crowley.

When you consider that he has featured in ten games, his pass percentage is extremely high and it highlights the quality he has.

As well as that, the former Arsenal man is predominantly receiving the ball in the final third so to have such stats proves he has composure and he is someone that will be key to the team moving forward.
