Drenthe turned up late on his first day at training and manager at the time Nigel Adkins never wanted him. The winger did make a handful of appearances for the Royals, but makes the list for his off-the-field antics.

He also once knocked out Jobi McAnuff after an altercation in training with Alex Pearce. He’s now an actor in Dutch TV whilst playing amateur football.

The Dutchman has recently been declared bankrupt as well. A fall from grace after impressing for Real Madrid early into his professional career.

Knight is certainly up there as Reading's worst signing of all-time, with the defender's brief spell with the Royals not being a memorable one.

The defender signed for the club after being released by American side Colorado Rapids, and went on to make just two appearances for the Berkshire-based side.

He was released by the club just two months later though, after struggling for regular game time with the Royals.

Peruvian international winger that made six appearances for Reading, but struggled to settle in England after joining from Pacos De Ferreira in Portugal.

Hurtado struggled to cope with the physicality of the Championship, and it didn't come as a surprise to see him move on to a new club relatively quickly.

The Portuguese defender signed for Reading in December 2012 from Sporting Lisbon.

Former TSG Hoffenheim midfielder that represents Lichtenstein at international level. He signed a three-year contract but was released after less than two, without making a single senior appearance.

He was sent off for the Under-23s on his debut for them. Also ended the career of Giles Yapi Yapo with a knee-high tackle whilst playing for Basel in Switzerland.

The Dutch goalkeeper that was just dreadful. Made six senior appearances in his career, four of which were at Reading FC. The other two came in a two-week loan spell at Carlisle United.

Travner made just one appearance for Reading, after signing on a short-term deal in January 2015.

But his spell with the club was brief, as his only appearance for the Royals came against Watford in the Championship, in a team that was significantly weaker than their normal starting XI, as they rested the majority of their squad for their FA Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal the following week.

It wouldn't come as a surprise if half of the Reading fan base had forgotten about the left-back, to be honest.
