Charlton Athletic have produced a host of players from their academy who have gone to achieve a relative amount of success after leaving The Valley.

The Addicks' supporters will be hoping that the individuals that the club has at their disposal will be able to push on in League One over the course of the coming months.

Currently 11th in the third-tier standings, Charlton will be looking to get back to winning ways at this level on Saturday following their recent draws with Ipswich Town and Burton Albion.

Set to take on Port Vale, it will be interesting to see how the Addicks will fare in this particular clash.

Ahead of the club's trip to Vale Park, we have decided to take a look at the five Charlton academy graduates who currently possess the highest market value according to Transfermarkt.

5) Karlan Grant

Karlan Grant made his debut for Charlton in 2014 and went on to score 21 goals for the club before sealing a move to Huddersfield Town in 2019.

The forward is currently valued at €6m (£5.2m) by Transfermarkt.

Grant joined West Bromwich Albion in 2020 and has managed to find the back of the net on four occasions for the club in all competitions this season.

4) Jonjo Shelvey

Jonjo Shelvey is valued at €7m (£6.1m) by Transfermarkt.

The midfielder played 49 games for the Addicks during his time at The Valley and has featured for Newcastle United since 2016.

After missing the start of the current campaign due to injury, Shelvey has been deployed as a substitute by Magpies boss Eddie Howe in three of the club's last four league games.

Ademola Lookman burst onto the scene as a teenager in 2015 and went on to score 12 goals and provide three assists in 49 appearances for Charlton.

The winger, who sealed a move to Atalanta earlier this year, is currently valued at €20m (£17.4m) by Transfermarkt.

Lookman has excelled in Serie A this season as he has managed to produce 10 direct goal contributions in 15 league games.

2) Ezri Konsa

Ezri Konsa is valued at €22m (£19.1m) by Transfermarkt.

The defender gained his first taste of senior football at The Valley as he made 86 appearances for the club.

 

 

Following a spell at Brentford, Konsa joined Aston Villa in 2019.

During the current campaign, the defender has made 16 appearances for Villa in all competitions and recently helped his side claim league victories over Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion.

1) Joe Gomez

Joe Gomez leads the way when it comes to market value as he is worth €30m (£26.1m) according to Transfermarkt.

The England international featured on 24 occasions for Charlton before securing a move to Liverpool in 2015.

During his time at Anfield, Gomez has managed to win six honours including the Premier League and the Champions League.
