Millwall are among the most well-established clubs in the Championship.

After securing promotion from the second tier in 2015-16, the Lions have gone on to establish themselves as one of the toughest sides in the league with clubs often dreading the prospect of going up against the South London club.

A large part of their success has been down to the quality of their recruitment.

Millwall are renowned for keeping a pretty consistent playing squad season in, season out and that has certainly helped them to establish themselves in the league.

Gary Rowett has a squad of players where most have been there for several years which certainly helps the cohesion within the team.

But who are Millwall's longest-serving stars? We took to Transfermarkt to find out.

The striker has been a key player for the club since arriving two years ago.

Bradshaw joined on an initial loan deal from Barnsley in August 2018 before having that spell made permanent on January 3rd 2019.

Since then there's no doubt that the striker has been a big player.

The 28-year-old has made 89 appearances for Millwall since joining the club, scoring 14 goals in the process.

With another year left on his contract the player will be hoping that he can continue to play a part for Gary Rowett's side in the season ahead.

Another player who has spent just over two years with the club.

Ryan Leonard joined Millwall on January 2nd 2019 after arriving at The Den from Sheffield United on a permanent deal.

Despite being a first team regular in his first season, the 28-year-old has turned into something of a squad player in the seasons since.

With another year to run on his contract the midfielder will be hoping that he can add to his 89 appearances for the club.

If he sticks around for another year, there's no doubt that he should achieve 100 appearances for the Lions.

A player who is approaching three years in the dark blue of Millwall.

Murray Wallace joined the Lions on July 1 2018 after leaving Scunthorpe United at the end of his contract.

Since moving to the club the central defender has made 100 appearances for the South London club, making him the 8th longest-serving player in the squad.

Wallace does, however, face an uncertain future with his contract at the club said to be expiring this summer.

That means that his opportunity to extend his stay with Millwall could be coming to an end.

At number seven in the list in Jake Cooper.

The defender has been with the club for nearly four years after joining from Reading on July 28th 2017.

Since moving to the club there's no doubt at all that the 26-year-old has established himself as a vital player for the South London club.

Cooper has made over 200 appearances for Millwall in almost four years with the club, and with another two years remaining on his deal it seems likely that his association with the club could go on for some time yet.

That certainly bodes well with the defender being a very popular figure at the club.

Another player who joined the club almost four years ago.

Jed Wallace arrived on July 1st 2017 after leaving former club Wolverhampton Wanderers at the end of his contract at Molineux.

Since then the midfielder's impact at the club has been massive.

Wallace has made 219 appearances for Millwall, scoring 35 goals and creating 38 more for his teammates during his time at the club.

He continues to be a big player this season, and with another year left on his contract there's a good chance he could stick around for a while yet.

At number five in our list we have Shaun Hutchinson.

The central defender has been at The Den for almost five years after joining on July 1st 2016 after leaving previous club Fulham.

Since then the Newcastle-born star has certainly grown in influence.

After a mixed first season for the club in League One, Hutchinson has made 180 appearances for the club during that time, meaning that he's averaged almost 30 appearances a year.

With two years left on his deal it seems that the 30-year-old will continue to be a big player for the club.

The left midfielder has been with Millwall for over five years.

Ferguson joined the club on January 26th 2016 after leaving former club Newcastle United with 32 appearances under his belt.

Since then the 29-year-old has made over 200 appearances for the club.

With his contract ending this summer it remains to be seen what the future holds for the player who has started just twice for the club this season.

It could be that his time in South London is coming to an end, but if that's the case I'm sure that few would argue with his contribution during that time.

It's almost six years since Mahlon Romeo joined Millwall.

The right-back arrived at The Den on July 1st 2015 after leaving previous club Millwall at the age of 19.

Since then the 25-year-old has really established himself as a core player for the Lions after making 216 appearances for the club during that time.

Romeo has been a key player for Millwall again this season under Gary Rowett and so looks likely to play a part for the club for a while yet.

With his contract expiring in 2023 it seems that his long-term future is with the club as Romeo approaches his prime years.

Coming in at number two is Ben Thompson.

The midfielder came through the youth ranks with Millwall before turning professional on July 1st 2014.

Since then the 25-year-old has been a really popular member of the group with supporters really taking to the academy graduate.

Thompson has made 168 appearances for the club during that time with the player drifting in and out of first team contention.

With a contract that expires this summer it'll be interesting to see if he's a player who is kept around at the club beyond the summer.

Who else would it be at number one on our list?

Shaun Williams is Millwall's longest-serving player having joined the club on January 27th 2014 - over seven years ago.

After joining from MK Dons, the midfielder has been a massive player for the club.

Williams has made 293 appearances for the Lions since his debut, scoring 25 goals and creating 18 more for the club.

At 34 years of age it seems that the midfielder is approaching the end of his career and that means that there could be a big decision on the horizon regarding his future.

With a deal that expires this summer it'll be very interesting to see what the future holds for the player.
