Nottingham Forest have had their fair share of ups and downs in their history, with the club now playing their football in the Championship. 

Chris Hughton's side will be looking to put together a positive run of results at the earliest of opportunities as well, as the Reds currently sit 20th in the second-tier standings.

One of the most exciting strikers Forest fans have ever seen. He only stayed two years but in that time he helped to get Forest back into the Premier League with 19 goals and hit 22 the following season as the Reds finished third in the top flight. Could score a goal out of nothing.

Stuart Pearce described Walker as the best defender he played alongside, both for Forest and England. Emerged in the late 1980s as a central defender with lightning pace.

What a centre forward. His goals looked set to fire Forest to the double in 1967 before he was injured during the FA Cup quarter-final against Everton. Missed the semi-final and the league run-in as Forest were pipped.

His signing in September 1977 was key to Forest going on to win the league title that season. He played in both European Cup finals and was especially outstanding in the 1-0 victory over Hamburg in 1980. Established as England’s number one goalkeeper during Forest’s glory days.

Great left winger, he became the darling of the fans when Forest came so close to the double in 1967. Scored a memorable hat-trick in the 3-2 win over Everton in the FA Cup quarter-final. Gave the club 10 years of fine service.

A member of the Forest team which lifted the FA Cup in 1959, he was a cultured centre half who rarely looked flustered. He was also a key player when Forest were league runners-up and FA Cup semi-finalists in 1966-67. Made 685 appearances in all competitions, a club record.

The striker scored 123 goals in 182 appearances between 1949 and 1955. Smashed 36 goals in the 1950-51 season, still a club record.

The Welsh international forward scored 217 goals in 390 appearances for Forest between 1898 and 1913. He remains the club’s all-time top scorer.

He will always be a Forest legend. Developed a strong rapport with the fans and played along with the ‘Psycho’ chants. A tough tackling left back who rampaged forward, he was captain of Forest and England.

Turned into the best left winger in Europe from 1977 to 1980. Created the winning goal for the 1979 European Cup final triumph and scored the only goal as the cup was retained in 1980. More than 500 appearances for the club.
