Swansea City are hoping that they're in for a big season.

After falling short in the play-offs last term the Swans are hoping to go one step further securing promotion to the Premier League.

Of course if they're to do that they'll need all of their players to step up the plate, including those young guns who have come through the academy system.

Swansea have some excellent former youth stars who are plying their trade in the game right now, but who are they?

Here are our top 10 academy graduates from the Liberty Stadium.

The winger joined Swansea City at the age of 18 as he looked to forge a career in the EFL.

Hedges never made an appearance for the Swans but enjoyed loan spells with Leyton Orient, Stevenage and Yeovil Town before completing a move to Barnsley.

The Welshman had a point to make with the Tykes and did that during 59 appearances with the club between 2017 and 2019.

It was then that Hedges moved to Scotland to join Aberdeen.

With the Dons the 25-year-old has made over 60 appearances as well as featuring in the Europa League on a number of occasions - not bad for a player who never turned out for Swansea's first team.

Edwards first joined Swansea City as a 15-year-old where he quickly made a name for himself as a future EFL star.

The winger had loan spells with St Johnstone and Crawley Town but never made an appearance for the Swans before moving on.

But that lack of first team action hasn't stopped him from thriving.

The 28-year-old spent over two years with Crawley Town before securing a permanent move to Peterborough United.

Edwards then scored 16 goals in 74 appearances for the Posh before joining Ipswich Town in 2018 where he is closing in on 100 appearances for the club.

The defender played for several Welsh clubs before joining Swansea City's academy set-up.

His stay at the Liberty Stadium was short-lived however, with Norrington-Davies joining Premier League side Sheffield United in 2018.

The 21-year-old is still in the early stages of his career but he's already showing that he has the potential to be a top player in the EFL and beyond.

Norrington-Davies has spent time with Barrow, Rochdale and Luton Town before joining Stoke City in January this year.

Since then the left-back has made nine appearances for the Potters and looks very assured at this level given his tender age.

The midfielder spent much of his youth with Watford before linking up with Swansea City's under-23 set-up.

Byers joined the club in 2016 and has gone on to make 65 appearances for the first team during that five-year spell.

With the Swans vying for promotion under Steve Cooper this term opportunities have been somewhat limited for the 24-year-old meaning that he looked for a new challenge in January.

That came in the shape of a loan move to Portsmouth where he is currently trying to help the South Coast club to secure promotion to the Championship.

The defender looks set for an incredibly bright future in the game.

Cabango joined Swansea City as a teenager and has rarely looked back as he had his sights firmly set on a place in the first team squad.

In 2018 the defender joined The New Saints on a six-month loan - a move which paved the way for him making his breakthrough at the Liberty Stadium.

His professional debut came in August 2019 and Cabango has rarely looked back after making more than 50 appearances for the club in the two seasons since.

The 20-year-old has been a vital part of Swansea's plans this term and will be hoping that he can help the club to the Premier League this time around.The right-back has established himself as one of the best full-backs in the Championship after coming through the ranks with Swansea City.

Roberts joined the club at just nine years of age and was always tipped for a very bright future with the South Wales side.

Loan spells with Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers followed as he looked to build up his experience at first team level, before getting his chance in the Championship with Middlesbrough.

That short loan spell clearly served him well as he returned to the Liberty Stadium and made his break into the first team in 2017-18.

Since then he's made more than 100 appearances for the club and is fully deserving of his spot among the best academy graduates.

Another player who joined Swansea City at a very young age.

Rodon was just eight when he first arrived at the Liberty Stadium and always looked like a player who was set to play at the highest level.

A loan spell with Cheltenham Town helped him on his way before the centre-back made over 50 appearances for the Swans across the Premier League and the Championship.

Such was the nature of his performances it wasn't long before a big gun came knocking.

Rodon joined Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 and has already made nine appearances for the club as the 23-year-old looks to emerge as a top player for Jose Mourinho's side.

The midfielder is a product of the club's youth academy and will always be remember for his role in helping Swansea City to the Premier League.

After joining the club at the age of nine, Allen thrived in the youth set-up before making his first team debut in the 2007-08 season.

Allen went on to make 150 appearances for the club before securing a big move to Liverpool in 2012.

The midfielder was a key man for the Reds during over 130 appearances for the club before joining Stoke City four years later - the club where he is still plying his trade.

At 30 years of age Allen will be hoping that he can guide the Potters back to the Premier League.

Barring a three-year stay in Denmark the defender spent much of his youth career playing for Swansea City.

His first team debut came at the age of 19 when he faced West Ham United in the Premier League - a sign of just how highly he was rated by the club.

Davies made 85 appearances for the Swans before securing a move to Tottenham Hotspur in 2014.

Since then the full-back has made more than 200 appearances for the North London side during a hugely successful career so far.

At just 27 years of age there's no disputing that the player could prove himself as Swansea's top academy prospect by the end of his career.

After moving to Swansea in 2014 it was clear that James was set for an incredibly bright career after making his debut in February 2018.

James had 16 goal involvements in just 39 appearances for the Swans before securing a big-money move to Manchester United where he has been ever since.

In that time the winger has already made 64 appearances for the Red Devils and has scored nine goals in the process.

While he's still only 23 years of age there's a real feeling that the Wales international could go on to achieve great things in the game.
