Celtic are still on the lookout for a new manager after what has been a disappointing season for the club.

The club have had some impressive men at the helm over the years, but who is the best Celtic manager ever solely based on points-per-game?

Here, we take a look at the top 10. Where does Neil Lennon rank on this list?

McNeill had 18 years at Celtic as a player, and went on to manage the club in two different spells.

It was his first spell in charge, between 1978 and 1983, which saw him manage a PPG of 1.63.

He sadly passed away in April 2019.

McGrory is another former Celtic player who later went on to manage the club.

He took charge of Celtic for 20 years, managing a PPG of 1.71 and winning over half of his 850 games in charge.

Current Blackburn manager Mowbray managed Celtic between June 2009 and March 2010.

He ended up managing a PPG of 1.73, after winning 23 of his 45 games in charge.

Slovakian manager Venglos took charge of Celtic in 1998 having previously been in charge of Fenerbahce, Oman and Slovakia to name just a few.

He managed a PPG of 1.75 during his tenure at Parkhead.

A man who needs no introduction.

In his five years in charge of Celtic, O'Neill guided the club to three league titles and a UEFA Cup final in 2002/03, where they lost to FC Porto.

He won 213 out of 282 games in charge of Celtic and managed a PPG of 1.83.

Stein guided Celtic to 10 league titles and a European Cup win in 1967.

He took charge of Celtic on 718 occasions, winning 503 matches at the helm.

He returned a PPG of 1.83 too.

Delia took charge of Celtic in 2014 and had two years at the helm in Glasgow.

In that time, he led the club to back-to-back league titles and a Scottish Cup win.

He won 76 out of 118 games at the helm of Celtic before stepping down, managing a PPG of 2.12.

Moving into the top three, Strachan is in at third place.

He took charge of Celtic in June 2005 and left in May 2009 having won 122 out of 182 games at the helm.

In that time, he managed a PPG of 2.13 and led the club to three league titles.

Missing out on top spot is Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers took charge of Celtic in May 2016, but missed out on a three-year anniversary after leaving for Leicester City in February 2019.

He won 118 out of 169 games in charge and managed a PPG of 2.24.

In at number one is none other than Neil Lennon.

Lennon has had two spells in charge of Celtic, but it his most recent one which saw him pick up the highest PPG.

He won 77 out of 110 games in charge, and managed a PPG of 2.29.
