Things haven't exactly been going to plan for Blackburn Rovers recently.

Going into the November international break, Tony Mowbray's side have won just one of their last eight games, leaving them 18th in the Championship, ten points adrift of the play-off places.

Despite that, there have been some encouraging individual performances that Rovers can look to build on in order to help lift themselves back up the table.

So which players in particular could Mowbray turn to in order to both lift his side up the Championship table, and lift some of the pressure that he himself currently finds himself under.

Here, we take a look at Blackburn's best seven performers among those who have started five or more league games so far this season, based on their whoscored.com ratings.

Since breaking into the Blackburn first team at the turn of the year, Travis has hardly been out of the Rovers side, and it is easy to see why.

The midfielder has quickly become one of Rovers' most effective outlets in the centre of the park, with his combative nature and precise passing - he has more tackles per game and a better pass success rate than any other Rovers player eligible here - Travis has become an asset for Blackburn in both defence and attack.

All that is enough to earn him a Who Scored rating of 6.70, and seventh on this list.

Despite the fact that he has come in for some heavy criticism from certain areas of the club's fanbase this season, it does seem as though Bennett has made a significant contribution this season.

Having been handed the captain's armband following the deadline day departure of Charlie Mulgrew, Bennett has been played in a variety of positions this season, including right-back, left-back and centre midfield, which will not have helped him in his struggle to settle into a rhythm at the start of the campaign.

Despite that, no Blackburn player has provided more assists than Bennett's three this season, while only Travis averages more tackles per game, earning the skipper a rating of 6.71, and sixth place on this list.

Admittedly, it has been a difficult season for Gallagher in front of goal since his big-money move from Southampton in the summer.

Since the start of the campaign, the striker has netted just once in the league for Rovers, with what was undeniably a brilliant curling finish in last month's 3-2 defeat to Preston.

But while that may be all he has to show for his efforts in terms of goals, his all-round persistence - his average of 5.1 aerial duels won per match is a club-high this season - has been admirable, helping him to a rating of 6.74, and fifth place on this list.

He may not have been the most heralded of Rovers' summer signings, but there can be no doubting that Stewart Downing has made a big impact during his time at Ewood Park.

Despite being at the latter stage of his career, the 35-year-old has started 14 of Blackburn's 16 league games this season, showing he still has the fitness, and ability to compete at this level.

He is the only Blackburn player to average more than one cross per game this season - with an average of 2.3 per match - while, his average of 2.5 key passes per game is by some way the highest at the club. Downing is also the only player to equal Bennet's three assists this season, giving the former England international a rating of 6.76, and fourth on this list.

He may have only made a handful of appearances for the club before his season was cut short by injury, but Cunningham certainly made his mark at Ewood Park.

His consistently reliable performances from left-back from both a defensive and attacking perspective quickly made him a popular figure with the club's fans, something which was further enhanced by his interaction with them off it.

Indeed, Rovers' dip in form has coincided with absence from the side after tearing his ACL at QPR, so it is no surprise that a return to the club next season for Cunningham - who has a rating of 6.83 to give him third place on this list - is already being talked about by plenty of among that Blackburn fanbase.

Tosin Adarabioyo has only really been given his chance in the Rovers side since Darragh Lenihan was picked up a knee injury at QPR, but the Manchester City loanee has certainly taken that opportunity.

Even at 22-years-old, Adarabioyo is starting to develop a commanding presence in the centre of Rovers' defence, which has been useful in the absence of Lenihan in that position.

The City prospect also got his first senior goal in that crucial win over Sheffield Wednesday a couple of weeks ago, and no Blackburn player can beat his average of 4.4 clearances per game, which has helped to a rating of 6.84, and the runners up spot here.

What a turnaround this is for Derrick Williams.

Having been so maligned while playing at left-back for much of last season, the switch to the centre of defence towards the end of the previous campaign - which had continued into this one prior to the problems at left-back brought about by Cunningham's injury - has seen Williams become one of Rovers' most reliable players.

No Blackburn man has averaged more interceptions per game this season than Williams' 1.8, with the three goals he has scored since the start of the season more than he had managed in his previous three seasons since moving to Ewood Park.

That has deservedly earned him top spot on this list with a rating of 6.89, meaning Rovers will be hopeful that the calf strain that forced him out of the Republic's of Ireland's win over New Zealand - during which he also netted his first international goal - and their squad for Monday's match with Denmark, is not too serious.
