Stoke City have experienced an utterly dismal start to the 2019/20 campaign under the guidance of manager Nathan Jones.

Currently bottom of the Championship standings, the Potters have only managed to pick up five points from opening 11 league games.

As well as struggling defensively in the second-tier this season, Stoke have also been extremely underwhelming in an attacking sense.

With just 11 league goals to their name, it is imperative that Jones finds a solution to this issue as soon as possible as a continuation of Stoke's recent form could result in relegation next May.

Having finally secured their first league victory of the year last Saturday against Swansea City, it will be intriguing to see whether the Potters can push on following the international break.

Here, using ratings from WhoScored, we reveal the three most disappointing Stoke players so far this season...

3) Jordan Cousins

Signed by Stoke in June on a free transfer (via BBC Sport), Jordan Cousins has struggled to adapt to his new surroundings.

Limited to just two league appearances this season, the midfielder has been unable to make any inroads on the Potters' starting eleven.

Having registered an average rating of 6.12 during the opening weeks of the campaign, it is clear that Cousins has to improve his performance levels over the coming months if he is to emerge as a key player for Stoke.

2) Stephen Ward

Another of Stoke's summer additions, Stephen Ward joined the club on a one-year deal in August following the expiry of his contract at Burnley (via the club's official website).

Despite having won promotion from the Championship on two occasions during his career, the defender has yet to deliver the goods for the Potters this year.

Currently an understudy for Tom Edwards and Bruno Martins Indi, Ward is averaging a rating of 6.02.

1) Jack Butland

Arguably one of Stoke's best players last season, Jack Butland managed to keep 18 clean-sheets in the Championship as his side secured a 16th place finish.

Currently looking a shadow of his former self in goal, the 26-year-old has conceded 15 goals this season and has made a number of glaring errors in between the sticks.

Averaging a rating of 5.55, Butland has statistically been Stoke worst player this year and thus it is not at all surprising that he has recently lost his place in the side to Adam Federici.
