QPR have registered their interest in signing French winger Axel Urie according to West London Sport.

The report claims that the midfielder has been offered a new deal by his club Guingamp heading into the summer transfer window, with his current deal set to expire at the end of this year's campaign.

It is also claimed that Rangers are interested in signing Urie, although it remains to be seen as to which club are leading the race to land his signature in the summer.

A move to QPR could be a tempting proposition for the young midfielder as well, with the Hoops will in contention to challenge for a top-six finish this season.

Mark Warburton's side are currently sat 13th in the Championship, and are currently six points adrift of the play-offs with nine matches remaining this term.

However, due to recent off-the-field events, that push for a top-six finish has been put on hold for the time being, with no scheduled return date being put in place as of yet.

The Verdict:

He could be worth the punt.

Urie doesn't have any experience of playing in English football, which always means that these type of signings come with an element of risk.

But you have to trust the club's judgement sometimes, and if he can take the weight of expectation from Ebere Eze's shoulders to provide the creative spark in the QPR team.

If they can reach an agreement with the player to sign him when his contract with Guingamp expires, then it could be an excellent bit of business providing he can hit the ground running with the Hoops.
