According to HITC, Rangers have agreed a deal with Norwich City for the loan signing of Russell Martin.
The defender seems to have fallen out of favour this season with the Carrow Road club with Daniel Farke deciding to leave him out of the side fairly often.
That would get on any player’s nerves, then, and it looks as though the defender is now going to get the chance to prove a point to the German boss.
Indeed, if the deal goes through he will surely feel as though he is going to get more minutes at Rangers as otherwise he would not surely be open to a loan deal.
That, of course, remains to be seen but the Ibrox club is evidently looking to bolster their defence and Martin should bring experience and knowledge to that area.
According to the report, a medical will be conducted within the next 24 hours and if that all goes through okay the defender will become a Rangers player for the rest of this season at least.
It is then up to him to do enough to get a permanent deal there or attract interest from another side.
Martin has been nowhere near the Norwich side for much of the season and is surely ready to get this move done.
Rangers will be looking to use his experience whilst the Canaries’ fans will hope he can impress Farke from afar.
