Rangers have joined the race to sign Kilmarnock forward Eamonn Brophy after his positive season in the Scottish top-flight.

The 23-year-old was a key player for Steve Clarke's side, scoring 11 goals as Killie secured a Europa League spot after a top three finish.

As well as his goals, the former Hamilton man impressed with his work-rate off the ball and his movement.

He has been rewarded for that with a first call up for the Scotland national team, who are now managed by Clarke.

And, it appears such form has caught the eye elsewhere too, with TEAMtalk revealing that Steven Gerrard wants to bring Brophy to Ibrox. The Gers are expected to lose the prolific Alfredo Morelos this summer so are on the lookout for reinforcements up top.

However, they will face competition to land Brophy, with the report stating that Championship pair Leeds and Derby are among the clubs from England that are monitoring the player ahead of a potential summer move.

The two sides both missed out on promotion to the Premier League following play-off heartbreak, with the Rams losing the final against Aston Villa on Monday.

The Verdict

Brophy is clearly a man in demand and if he has offers from those three sides it will be a very tough choice for him to make in terms of deciding where to go.

You can understand why the clubs are keen on the forward as he is a good player and has his best years in front of him.

Kilmarnock will be reluctant to sell but ultimately money talks and you would expect Brophy to leave in the coming months.
