According to the Daily Record, Rangers could face competition for Jason Cummings if they want to sign him permanently from Nottingham Forest.

The Reds signed the forward from Hibernian last summer after he had a stellar few years with the Hibees but he never really captured that form at the City Ground.

Indeed, it quickly appeared he would not be a part of Aitor Karanka's plans for the rest of the season when the Spaniard arrived and he duly linked up with the Gers on loan.

He's done fairly well for Rangers, too, with him back in Scotland and there could be a chance that the Ibrox side looks to keep him past this year.

However, according to the report there could be competition from other clubs for his signature - though it doesn't name specific teams.

Wherever he ends up, though, it looks as though there's going to be a number of conversations taking place over his future in the summer.

The Verdict

You'd imagine it looks fairly certain that Jason Cummings will leave the East Midlands club in the summer window.

Karanka didn't really bother seeing what he could do and he appears to be happy at Rangers right now. They must be the favourites to sign him, then, but it seems that there is potential for other clubs to get involved in the battle.
