Rangers plotting transfer swoop for creative Championship playmaker

According to sources from HITC Sport, Scottish Premier League side Rangers are tracking Reading youngster Liam Kelly.

The young Reading midfielder has been impressing for the Royals’ youth sides with exciting creative displays.

Kelly has even earned himself a few first team cameos this year, featuring once in the Championship and a further three times in the EFL Cup.

These performances have not gone unnoticed and Mark Warbuton’s Rangers are keeping their tabs on him with a view to potentially making an offer in January.

Reading have outlined their desire to keep Liam Kelly at the club but Rangers will be aware that his contract expires next summer.

Rangers could snap up the 20-year-old for a cut price deal considering his contract situation if Reading do not act quickly and tie him down to a new deal.

The Republic of Ireland under-21 international is particularly appealing to Warburton as he is a technically gifted ball-playing midfielder.

Reading fans – would you be upset to lose Kelly? Do you need to offer him a new deal ASAP? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
