Rangers are closing in on a pre-contract agreement for Nnamdi Ofoborh, according to the Daily Record.

The Bournemouth starlet has been a major talking point during the January transfer window with the player facing an uncertain future on the South Coast.

With his contract due to expire at the end of the season the 21-year-old has been the subject of intense interest from England and Scotland as clubs look to secure his services for the future.

As it stands, it seems that Steven Gerrard may have got his man.

Reports have claimed that the Scottish Premiership leaders are to announce an agreement with the player that will see him stay with the Cherries until the summer.

It's been claimed that the player will be heading out on loan for the rest of the season, with clubs in the Championship and League One said to be keen.

However with his long-term future being the pressing concern it seems that Ofoborh will have an exciting summer move to look forward to.

Stanislas? Brooks? – Can you name which AFC Bournemouth player scored each these 15 goals this season?

The verdict

This will be a great opportunity for Nnamdi Ofoborh.

Rangers are in a really strong position at the moment and seem all-but certain to be crowned Scottish champions this season.

While he'll face a battle to secure a spot in the first team at Ibrox it was probably a no-brainer to head to the club where he will have the opportunity to compete in the Champions League next term.
