Even though he is only a matter of months into his Glasgow Rangers career, striker Alfredo Morelos is already attracting big interest from down south.

The 21-year old Colombian striker has been a revelation since joining Pedro Caixinha's men and has eight goals in his last six games.

Before joining the Scottish giants he boasted a similarly impressive goals per game record in Finland at HJK Helsinki.

This has prompted interest from several Championship clubs including Aston Villa, Derby County, Barnsley, Bristol City and Reading.

However, his Portuguese manager is glad that the striker is gaining attention because of his fantastic form.

Speaking to the Glasgow Evening Times, he said: “We are glad he is being followed by English clubs. That is the reality of the market. We cannot run away from it.

In news that will no doubt please the potential suitors, Caixinha added: “You form the players, create the players, coach the players. After, you sell the players. It is a normal process in football.”

Any sale would see Rangers make a significant profit on the £1m they spent on the striker.

What's more, there are at least two Glasgow derby's against Celtic to be played before January and if Morelos can add to his tally in those games, any potential fee could get bigger and bigger.

The Verdict

Most sides in the Championship would be interested in a proven goalscorer and no matter what people think of the standard in Finland and the SPL, Morelos clearly has quality.

His powerful build and determination suggests he has the physique to adapt in England, whilst playing for Rangers will have him dealing with massive expectation.

Another positive is his age, which may encourage clubs to splash out give the years he has to improve further.
