Scottish Premiership outfit Glasgow Rangers are stepping up their efforts to sign Norwich City ace Graham Dorrans this summer.

After seeing a £700k bid rebuffed last week, Rangers have now submitted an improved offer which is believed to be a seven figure fee, according to The Daily Record.

Norwich City have already released seven senior first team members this summer - including John Ruddy, Seb Bassong and Steven Whittaker - and the mass exodus at Carrow Road looks set to continue.

Norwich are keen to get some of their high earners off their wage bill and could sell the likes of Jonny Howson, Steven Naismith and Cameron Jerome to generate funds.

Graham Dorrans is another player who could be set for the exit door.

The Scotland international was a boyhood Rangers fan and is said to be very keen on a move to Ibrox.

Dorrans moved to England in 2008 and spent seven years with West Brom before his 2015 switch to Norwich.

The 30-year-old was one of the standout performers in the middle of the park for the Canaries last term as Norwich disappointingly missed out on a play-off spot.

Pedro Caixinha is desperate to land the former Livingston midfielder and has sent him personal assurances that he was doing all he could to get this deal over the line.

Norwich City now have an improved bid to consider and respond to.
