Scottish Premier League side Rangers have made a late bid for Fleetwood striker Devante Cole, according to Football Insider sources.

The 22-year-old has been in excellent form for the Trawlermen this season, bagging twelve league goals, but with six-months remaining on his deal, Gers boss Graeme Murty is hoping to secure a cut-price deal for the player.

The son of Manchester United and England legend Andy, Cole began his career with Manchester City before moving to Fleetwood via a short-term stint with Bradford City.

Rangers are on the lookout for a new man to relieve the goal scoring burden on top scorer Alfredo Morelos, who himself has been subject to transfer speculation after Chinese side Beijing Renhe had an £8 million bid rejected earlier today.

The Verdict

Rangers are one of the biggest clubs in Scotland and have a fantastic history which will strongly appeal to Cole, who will certainly be tempted by the opportunity to swap small crowds at Fleetwood for 50,000 sell-outs at Ibrox.

Cole has been a loyal servant to manager Uwe Rosler following his appointment, and his form last season played an important role in helping Fleetwood secure a playoff spot where they fell to Bradford over two-legs.

The player could make a real name for himself at Ibrox, and earn himself a move back to England in the near future with a Premier League side.
