It has been a difficult season for Nottingham Forest midfielder Liam Bridcutt thus far, after finding himself frozen out at the City Ground.

After signing an array of midfielders in the summer, the 29-year-old fell massively out of favour under Aitor Karanka, and has been limited to just four appearances in all competitions this term, failing to make a league start.

After signing the likes of Pele from AS Monaco in January and with Ryan Yates coming into contention after an impressive performance against Brentford at the weekend, you would feel that Bridcutt's time at the City Ground may coming to an end.

Nevertheless, things could be on the up for the former Leeds United man - the midfielder was a standout performer for Forest's under-23 side against Sheffield United, and with Martin O'Neill and Roy Keane also watching, Bridcutt's fortunes could well change in coming weeks.
