Queens Park Rangers ran out comfortable winners on New Year's Day at Loftus Road as they inflicted a heavy 6-1 defeat on Cardiff City.

Nahki Wells and Bright Osayi-Samuel stole the show on W12, scoring five of the goals between them as QPR got their biggest win of the season so far.

It was also QPR's first win in five games, a sequence stretching back to the 11th December.

The win leaves Rangers in 15th place in the Championship table, five points off the play-off places.

One unsung hero in midfield for the R's was 24-year-old Dominic Ball, who had a good game in the middle of the park for QPR.

He had a pass success rate of 83% and made three successful tackles.
