According to reports from Football Insider, Leeds United are set to join Celtic in the race to sign Brentford midfielder Romaine Sawyers.

The 27-year-old has been a hugely important player for the Bees since arriving from Walsall in 2016, and has since made over 130 appearances for the West London club.

But the attacking midfielder is now entering the final year of his contract at Griffin Park, with a couple of high-profile clubs reportedly vying for his signature.

Scottish Premiership champions Celtic are believed to be interested in the midfielder, but reports claim that Neil Lennon’s side have already had a £2million bid turned down for the player.

Now, it is claimed that Leeds United are set to join the race for the midfielder, who is reportedly valued by Brentford at a price of around £2.5million.

Leeds have already made four signings this summer, with Helder Costa, Jack Harrison, Ben White and Jack Clarke all putting pen to paper at Elland Road.

But Bielsa may now look to freshen up his options in midfield, despite Pablo Hernandez, Mateusz Klich and Tyler Roberts all fighting it out for a place in the starting line-up for next season.

Here, we take a look at Leeds fans’ reactions to this potential transfer deal…
