Aberdeen captain Graeme Shinnie is in talks with Derby County about a summer move, according to the Derby Telegraph, with the 27-year-old out of contract at Pittodrie at the end of the season.

Derby manager Frank Lampard watched Shinnie at Aberdeen's recent home victory against Motherwell and the Scottish midfielder has subsequently made a trip to Pride Park, as he is suspended for Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic.

Shinnie joined Aberdeen on a free transfer and has made 185 appearances for the Dons and has played every minute so far this season.

So how should Derby fans feel about them looking set to sign Shinnie?

We discuss........

George Dagless

"Rams fans will want convincing.

"He has quality but it still seems a bit of an odd signing.

"He provides experience to the side, though, and that is a boost but Rams fans will want to see more before they can make a real judgement."

Gary Hutchinson

“Underwhelmed.

“He’s done okay north of the border, but he’s no John McGinn.

“Luton were interested, is that their level now?

“Scouting the same players as Luton Town? If so, it’s either a testament to the Hatters or Derby are changing tack.”

Louie Chandler

"A bit underwhelmed.

"Shinnie is a fine player and would be a useful addition to Lampard's dressing room.

"But I think at 27 he is not a signing who is going to get the blood pumping too much."
