Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has tipped Jonjo Shelvey to be recalled by the England international team due to his impressive form this season, according to the Chronicle.
Shelvey has made six caps for England in his career, but has not been picked since moving to Newcastle back in January.
The midfielder has been in sublime form this season and has been to the architect to the Magpies success so far in the Championship.
Although, his chances may be limited to play for England while in the Championship, Benitez believes that the 24-year-old should be given an opportunity again under Gareth Southgate.
The playmaker is arguably at his strongest when he is looking to utilise his wonderful range of passing and trying to test the goalkeeper from distance, which he proved in games such as Queens Park Rangers this term.
Shelvey will be looking to continue his excellent form for the Magpies in the upcoming weeks to persuade England manager Gareth Southgate to call him up to the squad to face Scotland on the 11th November.
