Andrea Radrizzani has never been afraid to make a bold claim or two during his time in charge of Leeds and his latest set of comments no different.

Indeed, in words that will surely shock and surprise Leeds fans, he claims that he floated the idea of bringing in Antonio Conte to the club in trying to get them promoted.

The former Chelsea and Italy manager is one of the best coaches in the world at the moment and, had he gone to Leeds, he'd surely have caused perhaps even more of a stir than the arrival of Marcelo Bielsa.

Indeed, Radrizzani told Gazzetta dello Sport - via the YEP:

"Conte [was on the list] and with him, we would have been certain of promotion to the Premier League.

"I would even have offered him €20 million."

Certainly, had Conte somehow arrived at Elland Road the club would have surely gone up with him winning the Premier League with Chelsea only last year.

The Italian owner is clearly an ambitious man and though these claims will perhaps come across as fanciful you have to admire his determination to get the best for Leeds.

He wants them back in the Premier League as much as any fan and he's going to try and get the best personnel to ensure that happens.

Certainly, Leeds fans will tell you that there's plenty worse out there that could be running the club...
