Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has expressed his delight at the Whites picking up the FIFA Fair Play award at last night's ceremony in Milan.

The Whites and their manager, Marcelo Bielsa, were the recipients of FIFA's Fair Play award, after the Argentine's decision to let Aston Villa score in the 1-1 draw back in April.

Leeds took the lead against Dean Smith's side when Mateusz Klich scored, despite Jonathan Kodjia being down injured in his own half.

Earlier on in the game, Villa kicked the ball out for an injured Leeds player, so their anger was there for all to see when Leeds seemingly failed to do the same in the build-up to Klich's strike.

Is this the WORST Leeds United XI from the last 15 years? We'll let YOU decide....

But Bielsa then ordered his players to let Albert Adomah run through on goal and score unchallenged by defenders, and he has now been rewarded for his work.

Plenty of fans, pundits and players alike have all had their say on Leeds picking up a somewhat out-of-the-blue award, but Radrizzani has now taken to Twitter to express his delight at the recognition.

The Italian described the night as a "beautiful evening" for "dirty Leeds", whilst pictured alongside club captain Liam Cooper and international superstar Kylian Mbappe who was named in the Team of the Year.

The Verdict

Last night's award practically came out of nowhere, so no wonder it has shocked everyone across the footballing world.

I think everyone will look at the award and immediately think about the "Spygate" saga.

But Bielsa should still be recognised for his gesture against Villa, and shouldn't be scrutinised for it.
