Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani has received backlash for his criticism of Derby County over the sale of Pride Park to their owner's sister company.

This comes after Leeds suffered a crushing play-off defeat at the hands of Derby just last week, with the Rams inflicting revenge following Marcelo Bielsa's attempts to spy on their training sessions earlier in the season.

Radrizzani has now continued his war of words with Derby after owner Mel Morris was able to use a company he owns to buy Pride Park and help the Rams towards reporting a pre-tax profit of £14.6million.

The Leeds owner claimed at a FT business summit that the sale to the sister company is "more cheating than sending a scout to see (Derby's) training."

Simon Jordan has now lashed out at Radrizzani for his comments regarding Derby's business, with the former Crystal Palace owner claiming the Leeds chief should have voted to change the rules.

“Radrizzani has got to zip it up a bit. He had concerns with Wolves last year. There are rules around FFP and if he doesn’t like what Derby did with the stadium he had every opportunity at annual meetings to vote to change things," Jordan said on the Jim White show (talkSPORT, Wednesday 10.20m)

“Sit down, shut your mouth. It’s ill mannered. Ultimately Leeds are no shining light here either, they’re losing money, they might fall foul of FFP if they’re not careful.

“I think Radrizzani has had a lot of things to say on a lot of issues and quite often he’s too loud.”

Radrizzani is now marking two years in full ownership of Leeds after buying shares from previous owner Massimo Cellino.

The Verdict

Jordan is strong in his condemnation of Radrizzani's comments, but I agree with the sentiment that the Leeds owner should now keep quiet on these issues.

It feels like Radrizzani remains bitter following Leeds' play-off defeat, and he should use his position to actively influence rule changes rather than simply criticising Derby over the matter.
