Hartlepool United like most clubs in the National League will be facing an uncertain period over the next few weeks and months, with the regular season having been brought to an end.

Clubs in the National League voted by a majority in favour of finishing the regular season on an unweighted points-per-game basis, meaning Barrow have secured automatic promotion and the likes of Harrogate Town, Notts County, Yeovil Town, Boreham Wood, Halifax Town and Barnet will take part in the play-offs.

That means that Hartlepool can now have some certainty knowing that they will now be planning for next season, as they try and push on next term and mount more of a challenge towards the top end of the league, although that will not be easy given the current financial uncertainty.
