Mansfield Town had a strong season under the management of Nigel Clough this year.
The Stags finished the season sat seventh in the league putting them into the play-offs.
After beating Northampton Town 3-1 on aggregate across two semi-final legs, Clough’s side faced Port Vale in the final.
However, a second yellow for Oliver Hawkins in the 35th minute of the game gave Mansfield an uphill battle and they lost the game 3-0 meaning they face another season of League Two football.
Clough will be eager to strengthen his side over summer so they can push for promotion again.
