Charlton Athletic midfielder George Lapslie has added another string to his bow, by getting a degree in Sports Science and Coaching after studying at Anglia Ruskin University.

Lapslie has therefore ensured that he has protected his future in terms of making sure he has something to fall back on after football, but has admitted that he struggled with the studying and assignments at times over the past three years.

Charlton as a club helped to fund most of Lapslie's degree and the PFA (Professional Footballer's Association) also chipped in to make sure that the 22 year-old had the opportunity of gaining the qualifications good enough to make sure that he had that safety blanket in place.

Lapslie has had a promising career so far during it's early years, having made 41 appearances for the Addicks already as he continues to improve as a player and control the tempo of the Charlton midfield as he goes along during games.

Lapslie was a part of the Charlton squad that won promotion last season to League One, making 32 appearances in all competitions and scoring one goal as his boyhood club reached the second tier of the English leagues.

Here, we take a look at some of the reaction from Charlton fans online about Lapslie's achievement...
