Norwich City fans can expect a quiet January transfer window this time around, according to sporting director Stuart Webber, speaking to the Pink Un.

Webber opened up about the summer and a lack of time to go and find the correct signings with new manager Daniel Farke, but says there will be no such situation come January.

“What I would say is, I joined in April and Daniel (Farke) the middle of May. We literally had between us three months and no scouting department. We were really doing it between us.”

Webber though now says the club have a 'strong scouting network' in place, and also says he isn't a 'big believer' in doing lots of business in January, citing a settled squad and spririt as key reasons for not changing things up too much in the squad.

In a lengthy interview, Webber also speaks of the fluctuating financial market, and believes the club need to plan ahead and not rush into the market in future, while citing signings in the form of Sean Raggett as the type of players the club needs to be looking towards as steps towards the future.

Norwich enjoyed an excellent September under new manager Daniel Farke, going unbeaten and picking up impressive away wins at the likes of Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.

The Verdict

It's pretty refreshing to hear a sporting director talk of the honesty and planning what goes into making a successful window.

Norwich have picked up, and quite rightly won't need to add too many new faces in January, especially if they can maintain their current form.
