Football League World travel to Loftus Road on Saturday lunchtime as QPR welcome Leeds United in the Championship, with the Whites looking to put right their atrocious recent record in London.

Leeds have not won a single one of their last nine trips to the nation's capital, with their last win coming at Loftus Road in 2017. They will be hoping to bring an end to that run on Saturday and bounce back from their defeat to Sheffield Wednesday last weekend.

The visitors outclassed Mark Warburton's side when they met at Elland Road in November, beating them 2-0 through goals from Patrick Bamford and Jack Harrison. That game kick-started a run of seven consecutive wins for the Whites but their form has been significantly less impressive over the past month.

Marcelo Bielsa's men have won just once in since the 14th of December–a run that has seen them surrender their place at the top of the Championship–while the R's have only won twice since that date themselves.

They began 2020 with blowout wins against Cardiff City and Swansea City, which showcased how scary they can be going forward, but a 3-1 defeat at the hands of West London rivals Brentford last weekend brought them back to reality.

Given their records heading into the game, both sides will be eyeing this up as an opportunity. A victory for QPR would be a statement of intent and pull them back into the play-off conversation, while three points for the Whites would steady the ship and could see them move back to the top of the table.

Leeds' resolute defensive unit negated QPR's attacking flair back in November but they have been much less solid in recent weeks, conceding 13 goals in their last six games.

That may mean more opportunities for the home side's front four, Ebere Eze, Ilias Chair, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Nahki Wells, who have 28 Championship goals between them this season. Kalvin Phillips and the protection that he can provide to the backline looks set to be key to ensuring they don't run riot.

QPR have defensive troubles of their own with a trio of experienced defenders, Toni Leistner, Yoann Barbet, and Angel Rangel, sidelined due to injury. That will likely mean a makeshift centre-back duo of Geoff Cameron and Grant Hall start for Warburton's side–something that Patrick Bamford and co. will no doubt look to capitalise on.

Leeds have yet to find a replacement for the recalled Eddie Nketiah and Tyler Roberts remains unavailable, leaving Bamford, who has gone four games without a goal, as their only striking option.

They remain in a commanding position but the gap over third-place Brentford is now only six points and the talk of the wheels coming off again will only grow louder if they're unable to take three points tomorrow.

Bielsa will be determined to keep QPR's front four quiet and ensure they don't do their West London neighbours a massive favour on Saturday. All in all, it looks set to be an enthralling encounter at Loftus Road.
