Queens Park Rangers are going to be missing some key personnel this afternoon as they take on Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship, with Angel Rangel and Geoff Cameron amongst those set to be absent for a spell.

Steve McClaren has lost Rangel to a thigh injury, whilst Cameron suffered ankle ligament damage in the defeat to Leeds United last weekend.

Sky Sports’ matchday preview has cast doubt over their involvement this afternoon against Middlesbrough, with McClaren’s comments to QPR’s official press ruling the duo out.

There is also a problem with Tomer Hemed, with McClaren admitting he’s struggling with a groin problem heading into the festive period.

The R’s enter this afternoon’s clash on a disappointing run of form, having lost their last two Championship fixtures.

McClaren’s side are winless in their last four and have slipped out of the play-off race and are sitting in mid-table.

Whilst today’s opponents are challenging for promotion, they are winless in their last three and are heading to Loftus Road on an indifferent run of form.

The Verdict

Things aren’t going too well for QPR at this moment in time and now they’re without some key personnel.

There have been some good performances with Rangel and Cameron in the side and their absence will make this afternoon a struggle.

Boro aren’t in the best of form, though, so it isn’t all bad news for the R’s.
