Queens Park Rangers are stepping up their pursuit of Kieffer Moore this summer, with a £2m fee been quoted around the Wigan Athletic man.

Wigan have slipped into administration in the past month and, naturally, clubs are beginning to circle Paul Cook’s playing squad.

As per Alan Nixon on Twitter, Moore is looking like he will be a man in demand, with the Welshman the subject of interest from QPR.

His report states the West London side are making a decent offer to take Moore from Wigan, with a fee over £2m giving them a fighting chance of making it happen.

The 27-year-old has been with Wigan since August 2019 after making the switch to Lancashire from Barnsley.

In his first season with Wigan, Moore has scored nine goals and has played a key part in giving Cook’s side a fighting chance of staying in the Championship for a third consecutive season.

Since the restart, he’s scored three goals, including a winner against QPR when the Latics beat them 1-0 on July 8th.

In addition to that, Moore scored twice in Wigan’s record 8-0 victory against Hull City.

The Verdict

It’s shaping up into a tough summer for Wigan and Moore will be one of those attracting interest.

£2m, or around that, isn’t a lot of money and Moore has consistently proved he’s good enough for this level of football.

He suits QPR and could really add something to Mark Warburton’s playing squad.
