Queens Park Rangers have organised a friendly fixture with Norwich City as they step up their preparations for the Championship’s restart later this month.

It’s been revealed that the Championship is looking to restart on June 20th, with QPR one of the most vocal clubs opposing that schedule and releasing a statement outlining their doubt.

Whilst that still remains and Mark Warburton has again questioned that June 20th date, The Athletic are reporting that a friendly fixture with Norwich is in the pipeline as they look to prepare themselves properly for a restart.

Quiz: The 15-question QPR higher or lower quiz – Can you get 15/15?

When things restart, QPR will be looking to cash-in on the outside chance they have of making the play-offs.

Warburton’s side sit 13th in the table after collecting 50 points from the 37 games so far, with QPR sitting just six points adrift of Preston North End and the play-off picture.

In terms of matching up against Norwich, The R’s were in the same division as the Canaries last season and suffered two defeats to Daniel Farke’s side on their way to the Championship title.

The Verdict

Whatever doubts QPR have over the season restarting, they’ve got to prepare for the June 20th resume date, just like everybody else.

Opposition needs to be put to one side and the playing staff - Warburton included – needs to focus on the remaining nine fixtures.

Norwich will prepare them well for that and looking back on their meetings last season, Warburton’s side will have to be at their best.
