Queens Park Ranger’s defender Todd Kane is said to be in line for his first Scotland call-up next month.

Steve Clarke’s Scotland face Russia and San Marino in the Euro 2020 qualifiers later this month.

It’s been reported by the Daily Record that QPR’s Todd Kane is being considered by Clarke for next month’s Scotland squad to face Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

Kane, 26, joined QPR in the Summer after being released by Chelsea where he’d been since he was eight-years-old.

He’s represented England at Under-19 level several times but only in friendly matches, and his Scottish father means he’s still eligible to play for Scotland.

Mark Warburton has shown trust in Kane this season, who’s featured primarily as a right-back for QPR in their positive start to life under Warburton.

Clarke has worked with Kane in the past, when he was assistant manager to Jose Mourinho at Chelsea.

The Verdict

Kane’s career hasn’t really had any meaning until late. He’s been a loan-player during his whole time at Chelsea, and was finally released in the Summer.

He’s joined QPR who underwent a complete overhaul in the Summer, and he finally looks to be settling down, and proving to himself what he’s capable of.
