Queens Park Rangers are said to be interested in signing Chelsea outcast Izzy Brown this summer, with West London Sport reporting that the R's are eyeing a move for the 23-year-old.

Brown was previously on loan with fellow Championship side Luton Town this season, featuring on 28 occasions for the Hatters as they narrowly staved off the threat of relegation.

A versatile forward player, the former West Brom youth product is capable of playing as a number 10, out wide and up front as part of an attacking trident.

The future of the 23-year-old attacker is seemingly up in the air at this point - with just one year remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge - meaning that a permanent move away from the club could be the best course of action for the player after numerous loan spells with the likes of Brighton and Leeds United over the past few seasons.

Meanwhile, the R's have also been left sweating over the future of Eberechi Eze at the club, with West Ham United and Crystal Palace having been linked with a move for the 22-year-old in recent days.

The Verdict

Brown would certainly be an interesting target for the R's with the Chelsea player offering an almost direct replacement for Eze on the left hand side of Mark Warburton's attack for next season.

Given that the 23-year-old only has a limited amount of time left on his current deal, it would be fair to assume that a permanent move would appeal to a player who has so far failed to realise his full potential after a plethora of failed loan moves and injuries in years gone by.

The geographical logistics of such a move would also make sense for Brown, with QPR plying their trade in the same part of West London as their close rivals - meaning that the forward wouldn't have to move far from his current home address.
