Queens Park Rangers join Leeds in chase to secure deal for talented forward

Queens Park Rangers have joined the race in a bid to sign Dundee United forward Greg Stewart, according to the Dundee Telegraph.

Birmingham City and Leeds United have also been linked with a move for the 26-year-old, and it could now turn into a three-horse race for the attacker’s signature.

QPR will be looking to add attacking options to their ranks after selling Matt Phillips to West Brom earlier this month, with wide players a big-part of the set-up at Loftus Road.

But Dundee aren’t willing to sell their star man on the cheap- they recently rejected bids of around £300,000 for Stewart and are adamant won’t budge on their £1.5 million valuation.

But with just a year left on his deal, it is likely an offer closer to The Dark Blues’ valuation of their player might be enough to tempt them to sell, as they risk losing him on a free next summer.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side got of to a fine start in their Championship campaign last weekend after they beat Leeds United 3-0 at Loftus Road- a strong statement as they look to build further.
