Queens Park Rangers hit with major blow ahead of Friday evening match

According to West London Sport, Queens Park Rangers ace Massimo Luongo is unlikely to be available for Friday night’s trip to Pride Park.

Queens Park Rangers are set to travel to face Derby County at Pride Park in a Friday evening kick-off but they will probably be without midfielder Massimo Luongo.

Luongo picked up an injury whilst on international duty with Australia and was not used in the Socceroos’ World Cup qualifying victory over the United Arab Emirates on Tuesday.

Upon his return to West London, the 24-year-old will be assessed by Queens Park Rangers’ medical team but it appears that Ian Holloway will not have Luongo available for the weekend.

The report suggests that the former Swindon central midfielder picked up a knock in training with Australia.

QPR will instead have to consider alternative options in midfield, with Sean Goss, Ravel Morrison and Jordan Cousins all vying for his vacant spot in the middle of the park.
